It's been more than a year since Google has updated their local search algorithm. We're waiting for the next big change from the search giant, and we want to know what you think will happen in local SEO in the next few years. The question is, what are your top tips and tricks for doing local SEO in 2021?
1. What are your best tips and tricks for doing local SEO in 2021? When it comes to local SEO in 2021, you need to be thinking location, location, location. Location is the most important aspect of local SEO. If you are not on the first page of Google for your geographic area, you are missing out on customers. The trick is to identify your usual customers and have a plan for their new location. Here are just a few tips for modern local SEO. Get a handle on keyword research. Seriously, you need to commit to making keyword research part of your daily routine. I cannot stress that enough. Google always seems to be experimenting with new keywords, we need to jump on them because they just might be the next big thing. Find out what has happened in your industry and in seasonal markets. Look for the start of a trend that was present last year. Something that will likely return this year. There is a beginning and an end to every boom and bust: It's time to learn when to hop on it and how to ride it out. Know if duplicate content has been penalized. Should we just put a penalty on anyone who has a large number of duplicated content pages published all over the internet? Google's local team seems to be active these days. Do any of you have any experience with this (small/large businesses)? I have seen plenty of cases where Google penalized pages that have illegal duplication implemented. This varies from area to area, make sure you find out if your pages were penalized. There is no reason for you to base your local search strategy on emotional information.avenezuela.com has a "What Voice Means For You" page but nobody is taking it seriously. BONUS BUZZ: Be Local: Local SEO Continues to Evolve One of my favorites, Dr. Peter J. Meyers from Local, shared some great stats on desktop and smartphone trends at the beginning of February. He highlighted that the mobile population is growing by 25% every year. 2. What do you think will happen to local SEO in the next few years? In the next few years, I believe local SEO will become more important. Since social media now allows you to tag your location, I'm sure Google will begin to value these tags more. It will be interesting to see how Google incorporates these tags into their local search algorithm. We all have a favorite place to spend our weekends. For many of us, it’s within driving distance or pretty close to it. Countless friends and family members from different generations move to the same locales to visit family, go to a tailgate, or watch football at the stadiums. These are all efforts to link your local niche to these locales. What if you’re in a completely different niche? What if you’re trying to target someone in a different city or state? For instance, my family owns a small car dealership in Kosciusko, Georgia. Actually, we recently rebranded to perform a little marketing fun to help drive awareness for new products that are coming out soon. When it comes to internet marketing, keyword density is your opportunity to drive traffic to your site. It’s important that you focus your local SEO strategy around keywords to maximize your reach and grow your list. Use the tools to maximize your online score: You should also have your own website and business information online. It will serve as a competitive advantage when seeking clients, new customers, and more. You can know a lot about your customers by researching them or reading reviews on places you’ve frequented. With this information, you can use your email list to notify people when new products or services are available. With just a few keystrokes: When you entice someone to do business, it helps to first establish a connection. 3. Do you plan on focusing on local SEO or do you have other strategies for reaching customers? The SEO strategy can vary by industry. For instance, if you’re a local business and you’re going after local customers, then local SEO is essential. On the other hand, if you’re a B2B company and your customers are coming from a higher level, then B2B SEO may be more important.
